Artery forceps and surgical clamps hold vessels, tissue and drapes securely. The ratchet on the handle keeps the clamp closed without hand pressure. Here you will find medical clamps for general, vascular and oral surgery – in straight and curved versions and various lengths.
Types of clamps in our range
- Artery forceps: Halsted-Mosquito (with and without 1x2 teeth), Micro-Halsted, Baby-Mosquito (Hartmann), Crile, Kelly, Kelly-Rankin, Kocher-Ochsner, Rochester-Ochsner and Rochester-Péan.
- Kidney pedicle clamps: Heath, Collin, Péan, Stille and Guyon.
- Occlusion clamps: DeBakey, DeBakey-Satinsky, DeBakey-Péan and Lambert-Kay with atraumatic serration.
- Other clamps: Gross, Noto, Foerster-Ballenger and the Backhaus towel clamp.
What to look for
- Straight or curved – depending on the access.
- Jaw profile: cross-serrated, with teeth (Kocher) or atraumatic (DeBakey).
- A cleanly engaging ratchet and precisely closing jaws.

Popular clamps
- Halsted Mosquito forceps 10 cm, curved and Halsted Mosquito with 1x2 teeth for small vessels.
- Crile artery forceps, curved and Kelly artery forceps, curved for medium-sized vessels.
- Kocher-Ochsner artery forceps and Rochester-Péan artery forceps for tough tissue.
- DeBakey occlusion clamp for atraumatic clamping of vessels.
- Backhaus towel clamp 11 cm for securing drapes.
Which clamp for which purpose?
The size of the clamp depends on the vessel: Mosquito forceps (approx. 10–12.5 cm) for small vessels and fine dissection, Crile and Kelly (approx. 14–16 cm) for medium-sized vessels, and Kocher or Péan for deeper or tough tissue. Curved clamps give a better view of the tip, straight clamps are suitable for grasping at the surface.
Quality and reprocessing
The clamps are made of rust-free surgical stainless steel. After reprocessing, check that the jaws close along their entire length and that the ratchet engages cleanly. Store the clamps open or only in the first ratchet position before sterilisation.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between Crile and Kelly?
The Crile forceps is cross-serrated along the entire jaw length, the Kelly forceps only in the front part.
What are the teeth on Kocher clamps for?
The 1x2 teeth at the tip prevent tough or slippery tissue from slipping out of the clamp.
