Wire bending pliers

    Filter

Wire bending pliers are needed in orthodontics and the dental lab to shape clasps, springs, loops and arches from orthodontic wire precisely. Each plier has its own jaw shape that allows certain bends to be made cleanly and reproducibly. That is why an orthodontic workstation usually needs several models as basic equipment.

      What to look for

      • Jaw shape suited to the bend: round for loops and arches, flat for angles and kinks.
      • Finely polished beaks so the wire is not scratched or notched.
      • A play-free joint and precisely closing jaws for reproducible bends.
      • Observe the maximum wire thickness of the pliers so the beaks do not wear out.
      • Stainless steel, autoclavable up to 134 °C.
