Needle holder
Buy needle holders for every suture size – from robust models for general surgery to fine instruments for microsutures. The needle holder fixes the surgical needle firmly in its jaws so it does not twist during the stitch. Many models are available in several lengths.
Needle holder models in our range
- With ring handles and ratchet: Mayo-Hegar, Crile-Wood, Crile-Ryder, Webster, Derf, Halsey, Baumgartner, Kilner, Doyen and Aruga.
- Mathieu: spring handle with ratchet, standard, narrow or ultra-fine tip, also with tungsten carbide insert.
- Castroviejo: straight and curved with tungsten carbide insert for fine sutures.
What to look for
- Jaw size matching the needle size – fine needles need narrow jaws.
- Tungsten carbide inserts hold the needle more securely and are replaceable.
- Ring handle or spring handle depending on the suturing technique.
