This combination instrument pairs a No. 23 shepherd's hook explorer with a PCP 12 periodontal probe. Use the No. 23 end to check restoration margins and calculus, and the blunt PCP 12 to measure probing depths. The markings at 3, 6, 9 and 12 mm are easy to read in the sulcus. Probe with a light force of about 0.2 to 0.25 N.
Applications: Periodontal charting, recall and maintenance, checking filling and crown margins, detecting calculus.
