The Nabers probe is a curved periodontal probe with a blunt end. It is used to assess whether and how far the furcation of multi-rooted teeth is open horizontally – an area a straight probe cannot reach. The colour-coded markings at 3, 6, 9 and 12 mm help estimate the penetration depth.
Applications: Periodontal examination, furcation assessment on upper and lower molars, recall and maintenance.
